Editor-N-Chief :)
Hey there Fellow Goddess Queens of the Universe!!! After being gone so long, I wouldn’t dream about simply touching on a couple of subjects to traipse off into obscurity once again. And so, here it is… Room With A View entry Part two:) Enjoy!!!

(parody to the song “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas”)
By E. Perez
Have yourself a very meager Christmas.
Sorry money’s tight.
Until Christmas Eve my wallet will feel light.
Have yourself a very meager Christmas.
Lots of bills to pay.
By next year I hope these bills will go away.
Here I am at the dollar store, seeking presents for my friends.
Getting cards for my co-workers.
Will this shopping never end?
Through the stress
I have to hold together
Or, I’ll have a cow.
Hope you like your toe-socks and your porcelain sow.
And have yourself a meager little Christmas now.

Only two months to the holidays, and you don’t yet have your Christmahanaquanzica gifts (or Festivus for the rest-of-us)?!! Well, not to worry. Here at Room With A View, we have accumulated a list of cool Christmas gift ideas for the holiday season ;)

1. One of the best holiday gift ideas is one that I have personally tried myself. They’re chocolate or CD-Christmas cards. Click on the following link to check it out:)
http://www.gneil.com/solutions/HolidayGreetings/Gifts/default.aspx?LMS=929&SiteID=892575
2. Another great and quick gift idea is a personal DVD gift book made personally by you. The first thing you would need to know is your gift receivers’ favorite DVD movie collection such as Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Kill Bill… etc. and pick up a copy. Next, you pick up a scrapbook. Here’s a link I recommend:
http://www.scrapbooks.com/index.php
Next, Search, Ask, or Google the movie you bought, and print all of those great movie behind-the-scenes tid-bits that the movie isn’t going to have such as movie trivia questions or movie still postcards that you can create yourself from the pictures you download to your computer from online :) You can also personalize the movie scrapbook with the original movie stubs from the first movie you guys ever saw together and/or with a couple of your own photos. Get creative with it. Trust me… they’ll love you forever.
3. Don’t have that kind of time or patience? Well, if the person you’re creating a gift for has their own computer, you can always use your Windows Movie Maker, your Computer Cam, or your office PowerPoint to make them a personalized slideshow of all the pictures you’ve collected of them throughout the years. Set the slideshow to a poignant song that they love and play the music as they watch the slideshow, to earn extra special points:)
4. Not a big Do-It-Yourselfer, but you still want to get them something extra special for the holiday season? Click on the following links for a hoard of great one-of-a-kind gift ideas: http://www.uncommongoods.com/
5. Do you have a board-game crazed friend or family? Well then this is the best idea for you. Just pick up a Photo-o-poly board-game and create your own personalized Monopoly board. Simply insert your own pictures and you can easily create family memories that can last a lifetime. Just click on the following link if it sounds like your cup-o-tea :)

6. Just can’t decide what to get this person or these people AT ALL!!! Well this is the site for you. When all else fails, you can click on the following link for this great holiday gift idea search engine. It’s fun, informative, and best of all… it’s free :)

7. This isn’t really a gift idea as it is a holiday card advice. When making out your holiday cards, you don’t have to go the way of the Christmas CD, chocolates, or DVD’s. But, the holidays are a time of year when we all should be showing others just how much we mean to one another. That, to me, means putting a little more effort into the everyday things I do for those people who touch my life on a daily basis. I personalize my cards with a famous quote that I feel sums up how grateful I am to have the other person in my life. It takes time. It takes care. But, it is worth it. After all, there’s nothing colder than me spending my entire weekend making out my cards, only to open the cards I get and see my name was quickly scratched on a piece of cardboard in unintelligible handwriting in an effort that looks like it took 5seconds. Oh well!!! It’s the thought that counts… even if it was only 5 seconds ;)

TV-N-ME :)

Ugly IS the new beautiful!!! And, there is no show that proves that more than ABC’s “Ugly Betty” starring America Ferrera. First spotted in the movie “Real Women Have Curves” as the Latina-American Ana Garcia who was struggling between self-success and family obligation, you could see the beginning of a promising acting career.
Now playing the character of Betty Suarez, the newest and most ostracized member of Mode Magazine, we can watch America as she blossoms into the hottest actress since… dare I say it? the shows executive producer, Salma Hayek? Okay. Maybe not yet. But, don’t rule her out in the future.
Ugly Betty is on ABC, click here for local listings:

I really should have mentioned this show a long, long, long, long, long time ago. But this is not only one of the best shows on cable, the first and second seasons are now available on DVD. So this is not only a cool mention for TV-N-Me but also a great holiday gift idea times two. It’s got great characters, writing, music, and actors. What is this show you might ask? It is none other than…

Editor-N-Chief :)

Thaaat’s riiiiiight!!! I’m baaack!!! And, after my long break, do I have news for you fellow Goddess Queens of the Universe. I have Movies-A-Go-Go, a new Poetry for the Masses, a celebrity heads-up spotlight, and much, much, more. So choke-down that last Halloween candy-corn, stop your Madonna-Momma-Drama (unless you run into Wilmer, because we could all use a thousand dollars in cash-money), and if you are currently holding a tape recorder given to you by a man named Jigsaw, don’t push play!!! Oh, one more thing… enjoy :)

Celebrity Heads-Up Spotlight :)

Prison Break star Wentworth Miller is eyeing a second career as a writer after completing his first screenplay. The heart-throb, who plays tattooed jailbird Michael Scofield in the hit show “Prison Break”, has used his time off from the program to get busy at his PC. He says, "It's a love story with a (Alfred) Hitchcock twist. A cross between The Stepfather, Shadow Of a Doubt and Dracula mythology. Whatever he’s writing, it shows his versatility, and proves that he’s not just another “pretty face”.

Movies-A-Go-Go :)
Ghostrider, Motorcycle… HERO!!!
For all of those Spidey-fans who cannot wait for May of 2007 for their comic-book-hero-movie-fix, have I got the movie for you. Ghostrider starring Nicolas Cage is sure to wet your comic-book whistle, even if you are not a comic-geek like lil-ol-me :)
Don’t believe me? Check it out yourself by clicking on the following link:

According to BBC News Online, Bruce Willis is to feature in the fourth Die Hard film next year. The Hollywood A-Lister will return as the tough New York detective John Mc Clane in the movie, which is entitled "Live Free or Die Hard." It's set to be released on the 29th of June 2007, where it should feature as a cool flick for the Independence Day weekend!!! The original film in the Die Hard franchise was released in 1988 and established the 51 year old Willis as the major box office star he is :)

Poetry for the Masses

“Promotion” –by E. Perez
This is the time that rings happiness into my soul.
My mind, a swimming sea of joy.
The day began for me instilling strength making me bold.
I felt as if I conquered Troy!
For four long years, I paid my dues.
I did not think this day would come,
When I’d receive this gratitude.
The morning came.
Out came the sun.
The ringing harmony of my epervescent heart,
It touched me, and now holds me tight.
The time has come; my boss looked me in the eye and called me smart.
I feel as if I’ve taken flight.
Before, I was so overlooked.
As I, within the shadows; pushed.
They didn’t care how hard I worked.
All my ideas were quickly shushed.
It was a constant struggle lost,
As I within their darkness kept.
I wouldn’t frown at any cost,
Yet deep within, my soul… I wept.
With this new job, I got away.
And, now my life is filled with song.
I welcome blissfully this day.
The time has come, when I belong.
